Comme il ARRIVE
There is nothing special about this blog, just a collection of articles, editorials, news events we come across daily.
A tribute to others like me, who read like crazy. Often the impact of an old but important article fades out, so here I keep a collection of anything which I find worth a look.

Techie Loses Job
Kolkata: Massive earthquake of magnitude 8.7 struck Indonesia 11the April afternoon. Tremors were felt in many parts of India also. No reports have been confirmed about any losses of life or property. But a techie has lost his job, thanks to the tremors.Incident occurred today afternoon at sector 5 in Kolkata. As the tremors were felt, employees of ‘Bye Bye Consultancy Services’ were evacuated as a safety measure. After 20 minutes waiting in open areas, employees were asked to move to their workstations. As per the new disaster management policy of the company, employee count was done to ensure that everybody is safe. But Rahul Bhattacharjee was found missing.
“We have installed new security systems in company recently wherein we can get details of people who entered office on that day. After tremors, when associates started moving towards their places, we kept counting associates up to half an hour as some people go for smoke during such times. But even after an hour, Rahul had not moved in the office. Sensing the danger, search operation was initiated”, Said Debasis Chkarborthy, chief security officer.
Intense search operation was made in office areas, cafeteria, sports room and even the new building construction area. But there were no signs of Rahul. Only after 5PM when Rahul came back to office, security people took a sigh of relief. But that followed questioning Rahul about his whereabouts.
“Initially Rahul denied that he was not present for such a long time. Then the matter was raised to HR team. After a long round of discussion, it was revealed that Rahul had gone to watch movie even before the tremors were felt. This is not acceptable as per company policy. He is fired with immediate effect”, Said Paromita Chattopadhyay, HR lead of the company.
“I am not having any work for past few months like many of my friends. Sports room is always filled with so many people, so much that in order to get one game of TT, you have to wait for two hours. I don’t have any female friends in office also, otherwise like many of my friends I could have been sitting in canteen. Today only one IPL match is there, that too starts at 8PM.So instead of wasting my time here and there, I went to watch the movie. Still the company is not accepting all these reasons and are not changing their decision” Said frustrated Rahul.
Rahul’s firing has become a debate topic in the companies. Some say it is due to the poor people management policies of software companies that they hire too many people without work. Others believe that it is Rahul’s fault to be caught, when there are so many people like him without work. Some say it is his bad luck. Had the earthquake not come, he would still have the job in hand.
Whatever may be the reason, the poor guy has lost his job. And like many people in Indonesia will remember this day, Rahul will also; although with different reasons. Our sincere advice to all those people who do not have work, Please do not go to watch movies during free time…!!!!

6 kg iron in patient's Stomach
Dr. Yadav was stunned of what he saw in the operation theatre. It is not often a doctor sees a patient carrying 6 kg iron- 121 coins, 3 key rings and dozens of nut bolts - in his stomach.
Though the doctor in Chhattisgarh's industrial town Korba successfully completed the two-hour surgery, a question is still hovering in his mind: "How was he carrying six kg of iron-made items for several months?"
Patient Kaleshwar Singh, 26, was brought to Shristi Institute of Medical Research on Saturday in acute pain. After serious blockage was found in his stomach in a sonography, Yadav decided to conduct an immediate surgery."I was stunned to find 421 coins, dozens of nuts and bolts and three key rings in his stomach. Luckily the patient survived and his condition is stable now," Yadav told IANS over phone from Korba, located some 220 km north from here.
Yadav said Kaleshwar was in acute pain for about three months and had consulted a few doctors in his village Korkoma, about 20 km from Korba, but his problem was not detected.Kaleshwar's family members think he is suffering from some mania and he has a habit of eating everything he finds.

Sabeer Bhatia Rocks Again
Sabeer Bhatia has done it again, and this time the product is developed in India.
Well the new buzz in the town is JaxtrSMS. Now you can send free SMS to any national and international number. This application is available as free download for phones based on iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows and J2ME. It works almost like the standard SMS application, you can use a number from phonebook or manually enter the number. What makes it stand apart from other applications like WhatsApp is that JaxtrSMS sends the SMS to receiver's inbox and does not require the recipient to install the app.You can just download and use the app to send SMS to any number... FOR FREE. There are no limits on the length or number of SMS.
Mr.Bhatia acquired this company in 2009, it was almost in ruins then. The founder of hotmail, after completely revolutionizing the emails, is after SMS now. Good Luck!!

West's Financial Crisis
Last week has seen some dramatic movements in the financial markets across the globe, specially US & Britain. Though Washington managed somehow to save its face, the global response to the critical issue has been frightening. Wall Street or Dalal Street, there were few exceptions who were lucky to keep the adverse impact at bay. S&P revised US's credit rating for first time in history, one notch down to AA+ from AAA. The tremors have been felt far & wide.
Approximately a total of $ 2.5 trillion were eroded from the value of stock markets across the globe.
Already fighting with its internal financial turbulence, European markets took the worst hit. German market witnessed a free fall with DAX dropping 10% from year's high. Billions were eroded from Britain's super wealthy with steel tycoon Mr.Mittal taking the worst hit of about 2.16 billion ponds, and just to reiterate, all that within a week.
The fears of another meltdown have stuck the market hard. Raising the debit limit is one thing, but the fact is that US still remains under debt accumulated by the former presidents, most significantly during war torn period under the Bush regime. The rating agencies are speculative and market stressed.

Men... The most beautiful creation of GOD
I think everyone might have read abt Mom's, Wife's and Girl's...
Its time to learn something abt Men...
A boy/man is one of the most beautiful creations of God.
He starts compromising at very tender age. He sacrifices his chocolates for his sister.
Later he sacrifices his love for just a smile on his parents face. He sacrifices his love for his wife and children by working late nights.
He builds their future by taking loans from banks and then repaying them for the life time. Thus he sacrifices full youth for his wife and children without any complain.
Believe me he struggles a lot but still has to hear the music (scolding) of Mother, wife and his boss. Yet every mother, wife and boss tries to have control over him.
Finally his life ends up by compromising for others happiness. He is that creature of God who no one can compete with.
Respect every boy/man in your life. You will never know what he has sacrificed for you.
Just extend your hand when he needs it
Boys also Have Emotions and respect it.
Flipkart Rocks!!!
This is not an advertisement.
I am always reading something, and most of the time I am on a hunt for books. During one of my searches last week, I randomly landed on flipkart.com.
Flipkart is offering books at great prices, discounts vary from 30-40%. The fresh smelling copy arrives in a neatly laminated package in no time. A good product clubbed with great price and excellent service raise the online marketing to a hitherto unknown level in India.
I ordered a book on Friday evening and the book delivered on Monday afternoon. Happy with the service, I ordered another 3 books on Monday evening, I was surprised that the books were delivered on Tuesday, that is less than 24 hrs.
If more products are added to the list and the same momentum continues, Flipkart is sure to give ebay a stiff competition . With Amazon destined to enter Indian markets soon, the war of online marketing in India is only going to get tough. It would be great to see an indigenous company emerging victorious. Good Luck!

Massive Uranium found in Andhra
A uranium mine is found at Tumalapalli, the current estimates suggest a massive quantity of 49,000 tonnes, sufficient to supply a 8000 MW plant for 40 years. Srikumar Banerjee, secretray of DAE and chairman of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, announced the discovery during the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the seventh and eighth units of the Rawatbhata atomic power project.
Further investigations are on and the total quantity could be 3 times as much, possibly making it the largest Uranium mine in world.
This comes as a major boost for India, which sees nuclear energy as a powerful resource to satisfy its ever increasing demand of power. India has been dependent on country such as France, Kazakhstan for raw fissile material. India has currently 2 mines, both in Jharkhand with a total capacity of 1,70,000 tonnes. This new discovery serves as a major boost and will reduce India's dependency on foreign supplies.
Moreover the foundation stone has been laid for 7th & 8th unit of Rawatbhata plant in Rajasthan, 2 indigenously built nuclear 700 MW capacity plants. They will be completed by 2016 at an estimated cost of Rs.12,000 crores.
